From the Artist: For many years, I have been a painter with oils and pastels. When I became seriously ill from the chemicals, I could no longer use those mediums. That was especially difficult for me during the pandemic when I was isolated. I looked to my love of drawing to express what I was feeling; the fragility of life, the passing of time, and the realization that life is terminal. I wanted to find beauty in the last stages of life and I turned to nature to find it. I did not want botanical drawings so I added my own imaginative touches to these intricate and time consuming drawings. They have become a way for me to feel calm and focused, almost like a meditation.
