In the center of the colored silk embroidery, executed in pastel shades of pink, blue, green and brown, the ”The Lamentation of Christ” scene is depicted, with His Entombment, surrounded by the Holy Women (with Virgin Mary the middle), Saint John and Saint Nicodemus. The representations of the four Evangelists with their symbols are embroidered around the central scene, with Golgotha on top left and the city of Jerusalem on top-right. On both sides of the central stage can be seen the ”Resurrection of Jesus” scene and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
