"Hello, Boys!" cheered early Erector Set advertisements, "Make Lots of Toys!" As with Lincoln Logs and Tinkertoys, Erector Sets were designed to push boys into building and engineering pursuits. This set was made shortly after the company began using metal again after World War II, having stopped due to wartime metal shortages.
