Eric Lu at the Finals

At the conclusion of this Concerto performance, Eric Lu accepted the warm applause from an appreciative Miami audience. He was poised to begin a concert tour over the next several months that would further refine his stage presence. Lu started studying the piano at the age of 6 with Mrs. Dorothy Shi. While at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, he studied piano with Alexander Korsantia, and Mr. A. Ramon Rivera. When he entered the Competition and just 17, Eric was studying at Curtis with Jonathan Biss and Robert McDonald. He was also a student of the renowned pianist Dang Thai Son.
