“Toy Story” is a computer animated Disney media franchise that commenced in 1995 with the release of an animated film. The movie was a joint venture between Disney and Pixar (a young company chaired by Steve Jobs). The film followed a group of anthropomorphic toys, including Sheriff Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Slinky Dog, Rex, Mr. Potato Head, Little Bo-Peep, and Aliens, among others, as they embarked on adventures that served as a sort of odyssey. “Toy Story” was the directorial debut of John Lasseter and the first entirely computer-animated feature film. In 1995, former Disney CEO Michael Eisner told “Fortune” magazine that “the technology is brilliant, the casting is inspired, and I think the story will touch a nerve.”
