Contenedor de etrog

A container with etrog, the citron that is used in the Sukkoth (huts) festival. This festival takes place to remember the tents in which the Jews had to live while they were in the desert after leaving Egypt. During this festival they have to build small tents or huts on the terrace or patio of the house. The top is made of openwork and chiselled with acanthus leaf motifs, crowned with an open flower. It opens up down the middle to insert the etrog.
