On the 10.12.1878, the Kelly Gang made their way to the town of Euroa where they bailed up staff at the National Bank and escaped with 2,000. Two days later, a telegram lodged by Sergeant Burland of Hamilton, was sent to various police stations providing them with a detailed description of the outlaws.
