Note: Donor sent a brief letter with the following information:
“Purchased from Marlborough in Paris, France, by Paul D. Davis for myself his wife Doris M. Davis, after being modeled in their collection. My recollection as to the cost $700. This dress was worn by Doris Davis at the Ambassador Hotel in Accra, Ghana for the opening of the Pepsi-Cola Factory......also worn at Christiansborg Castle Garden Party for the visit of Haile Selassie (Emperor of Ethiopia) given by President of Ghana Kwame Nkrumah.
