Evening dress in Alizarin crimson cannele silk; A-line sheath; floor-length; high round neckline; 3/4-length sleeves; overlaid front and back by floating pyramidal panels cut in one with shoulders, sleeves and upper bodice; grosgrain trim at sleeve edge, embroidered with red bugle beads and irridescent faceted glass beads (some pendant as fringe); two center back zippers, set separately into dress and overdress; hand-faced and finished. Worn by Mrs. Kitty Carlisle Hart on New Year's Eve, 1966 at the Metroplitan Opera House after her debut as Prince Orlofsky in "Die Fledermaus."
