Evening Dress

The inventive embroidery Lesage designed for the dress’s bodice and dramatic sleeves is a jigsaw puzzle of irregular pieces of brilliantly colored plastic flanked with flashing sequins and beads. From a distance, the e�ffect is of a stained glass window. Balmain made at least one other example of this model, which indicates that it was from his regular collection, and thus not exclusive to Her Majesty.
