Elegant and at the same time youthful, this evening pantsuit combines a smooth decoratively trimmed knee-length tunic with embroidered trousers. Two wide bands embroidered with sculptural flowers draw attention to the front centre of the bodice and form a high stand-up collar that attaches to the tunic at the neck. Another ribbon marks the waist. The continuously worked top bodice is fully lined and closes with a zipper at the back. The entire surface of narrow cut trousers, which have a zipper in the left side seam, is tambour worked with shimmering plastic opalescent sequins. Giovanna Ferragamo, second daughter of the Italian shoe designer Salvatore Ferragamo, presented her first Prêt-à-porter collection in 1967 at the Palazzo Pitti in Florence.
