Silbaat is a grinding stone used for preparing spice pastes or chutney at home. It is made up of two parts; the sil which is the flat stone surface on which the spices are placed and the baat, a smaller stone used to grind the spices. The grinding stone is generally kept in the kitchen area due to its regular use while cooking.
