"I've always had a thing for the alphabet. I was a cross-stitcher for a long time and always made samplers. My mom was in the printing business, and she used to bring home type-face catalogs, and I was fascinated as a kid about how many ways one could design letters. I've been enamored with letters and type my whole life. I used to do calligraphy. I was always arts and craftsy as a kid. When I made the first alphabet quilt I had all these ideas for all these quilts and thought it would be cool to do a series, thinking I could whip them out in a couple of years. That was in 2008, and I'm on number 16. I have more ideas that I will probably live long enough to make."
