When choosing the subject matter for his paintings, Oh Yong-Kil preferred the ordinary landscapes of his surroundings to the power and magnificence of Nature. As a result, the Ewha campus with its balanced harmony of buildings and scenery served as his artistic inspiration. With plain colors and delicate lines, Oh depicted the buildings and structures on the campus including the auditorium, the main hall. These paintings are a representation of Oh’s warmhearted affection towards Ewha, where he served as a professor for a long time.
