ex-voto model ship Neptunus Doel

Ex-voto: votive offering ( a model ship, the two-master Neptunus Doel) in gratitude for the divine help during a storm, probably built in 1850-1860 by a sailor who donated the model ship to the parish church of Doel. It may have been part of the religious patrimony of the brotherhood of the Saint Cornelis. The ship only left the church in processions. In the 20th century the model ship was moved to the Hooghuis where it was placed on a mantelpiece.
