Since the large-scale climbing kiln has of Akahada ware been used in almost 40 years, it has become damaged over time. In order to revive this kiln as a local historical resource for future generations, on August 30th, 2015 work began on dismantling and repairing the first three chambers of the kiln. When the kiln was dismantled, it was also excavated in September of 2015 in order to assess the historical changes that the kiln has undergone. During this process, remains were found that revealed the kiln has been repaired several times.
