With the death of John Jacob Astor IV in April 1912, the Astor Estate transferred control of the modern equivalent of several billion dollars to Vincent Astor, then a 20 year old Harvard Student. His uncle, James (Rosy) Roosevelt Roosevelt was a Trustee of the Estate. Franklin D. Roosevelt also acted as an attorney for other Astor relatives. Franklin D.
