Exlibris of Juan Antonio Montenegro y Ubaldi (1782-1854), the first historian of Moquegua, priest and vicar of that province, and author of Noticias de Santa Catalina de Guadalcázar de Moquegua. It is known that he had an important personal library, with up to 1,321 copies.
Exlibris or bookplates are marks commonly placed on the back of the top cover of books, although it is sometimes attached after the colophon or on the title page. These marks create a link of belonging, in addition to allowing to know personal aspects of the collector or institution that treasures it.
