Exlibris or bookplates are marks commonly placed on the back of the top cover of books, although it is sometimes attached after the colophon or on the title page. These marks create a link of belonging, in addition to allowing to know personal aspects of the collector or institution that treasures it.
This ex libris belongs to Baron Horace de Landau (1824-1903), bibliophile and collector of Ukrainian origin, naturalized French, who obtained the title of Baron in 1867 already installed in Florence. His personal library had various destinations due to auctions.
