"Expressive Rhythm" is one of the most interesting works by Aleksandr Rochenko, which departs from the cubist - constructivist structure of his previous works and presents an aniconic theme with colours and lines. The work is strongly reminiscent of Jackson Pollock's works, although it is painted traditionally rather than using the dripping technique, and of course, Rochenko had not seen paintings of abstract expressionism. Moments, spirals, curved lines and ellipses make up a musical, rhythmic work that makes the viewer join the dots and outline the dancer's path, reproducing the musician's notes.
