This illustration from Harper's Weekly Illustrated Newspaper depicts the interferene of a mob during a meeting to commemorate the first anniversary of the execution of John Brown. Frederick Douglass was among the featured speakers at this event and, following the confrontation at Tremont Temple, the meeting was moved to the African Meeting House at the invitation of Rev. John Sella Martin.
