Ezhavathu Manithan (1982)

Set in a Tirunelveli district village, the home of the legendary Tamil poet Bharati, whose poems are featured in the movie, the film focuses on environmental pollution and exploitation of industrial workers. The central figure is an engineer who becomes the main activist for social justice in a cement factory with connections to a callous moneylender and his cronies.
