Made of black felt. A hat with a tall rounded crown and narrow, flat brim. A broad ribbon of black ribbed woolen cloth, rips, sewn around the bottom of the crown. Worn by Serbs, Bunjevci and Hungarians in the region of Bačka. The so-called polucilindar (derby hat) was worn by men throughout the Pannonian basin, particularly in cities and towns until after World War II. Bought from hatmaker’s shops in towns and cities (Novi Sad, Subotica, Sombor, Zrenjanin, Kikinda, Vršac, Melenci, etc.). A hatmaker’s product. Diameter: 18 cm; height 14 cm.
