They say it is darkest before dawn. Right before the sun rises above the Black Lives Matter Mural on Greenwood, these women face each other proudly and without pretense. They are nude as a symbol of the transparent nature in which we must face the fact that black women have been the thread woven into the fabric of American life. From nursing babies they didn't birth in slavery to now guiding the nation in the Vice Presidency, the dawn is coming and these women are ready.
