Franz Ackermann is a perpetual traveler, reflecting on globalization and the constant growth of urban centers. In his paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations he appropriates the imagery architectural forms and dynamic structures in order to create a universe of commodified cultural landscapes as a representative of an ever-shrinking world. The rapid development of information technology, the increased speed of perception as well as simultaneity are being reflected in Ackermann's usage of the world, it's interrelations as well as superimpositions.
