Faldistory

The faldstool is a portable seat used by bishops in front of the altar during certain pontifical functions. This faldstool, designed by Antoni Gaudí, is considered a true jewel of Gaudí's furniture design. It is made of polychrome wood with a smooth, gilded, and polychrome leather seat that is foldable and backless. It has eight legs: the four lower ones, shaped like lion's paws, serve as supports; and the four upper ones are topped with spheres atop small Solomonic columns.
