Fang Lu, Lovers Are Artists II

Fang Lu’s works explore the possible relations between performance and the moving image. "Lovers Are Artists"(single-channel video, 11:50) is a series of works inspired by Roland Barthes’s "A Lover’s Discourse: Fragments"; in these works the petty actions of daily life transcend their ordinary context, becoming absent-minded, yet extremely determined, actions before the camera.
