Vincent Astor and FDR grew up on neighboring Hudson Valley farms were both concerned with conservation and agriculture. In this correspondence FDR, then a NY State Senator, provides a letter of introduction to Vincent Astor for Howard Davison, another Dutchess County agriculturalist. Franklin D.
