On May 29, 1935, the inventor of the Nipkow disk (a fundamental component of the mechanical television) was presented with the title of honorary President of the Television Association at the Reich Radio Institution. In honour of this occasion, the Reich Broadcasting Corporation presented a fully electronic television receiver FEIII to "The inventor of television, Paul Nipkow, in recognition of his ingenious and groundbreaking invention." Devices like this could also be found in TV rooms in Berlin during the 1936 Olympics.
