Niamh says: "As an artist it was my privilege and honor to support our NHS heroes. Fiona is one of the brave NHS staff who has so selflessly left her home everyday to help save so many lives in the fight against Covid-19. I am so happy Fiona loves her portrait, it is a piece I hold dearly as it reflects both a time of immense human frailty and vulnerability yet juxtaposed with strength and bravery that comes when faced with such adversity. As a recognition to all our heros in the NHS I have titled the piece 'Fear and Hope'."
Fiona says: "Niamh used a photograph from an interview I was doing about how our Emergency Department was responding to the Covid-19 pandemic. I think Niamh has perfectly captured this time in my life where I have never felt so vulnerable. I can see my fear and hope looking back at me when I look at my portrait.
I am indebted to Niamh for giving me this keepsake. I hope this will be passed down the generations of my family as a stark reminder of how surprisingly vulnerable a species we are and to make the most of every day. My own sister thought my portrait was a photograph - it is incredibly accurate. Thank you Niamh for giving up your time to create such a stunning work of art."
