Felt-makers at work

The illustration shows five figures working on different processes. Figure 1 shows a slatted table and pile of unworked wool with an instrument called a 'bow'; Figure 2 shows wool being worked on iron plates over a basin of coals; Figure 3 shows the wool being treated with hot water; Figure 4 shows the wool being worked and how the felt-makers 'secure their hands by their cuffs'.
