This magnificent terracotta figure, made in a mould, depicts a standing woman in a frontal position. She lifts her right arm and extends her left one with her palms open. She wears a pink sleeveless chiton and a cloak of the same colour, festooned with a lilac border. Her face, neck and arms are covered with white engobe. She wears golden bracelets, earrings and necklaces over the engobe. Her face, with striking features, has painted black eyes and eyebrows and red lips. Her hair, split into two symmetrical halves, is painted dark brown, and is fastened with a lilac spiral diadem with white engobe-covered ivy leaves emerging from it. At the top and back of the figure it turns into the handle of a jug. This type of vividly painted terracotta object is common in the tombs of Canosa in Magna Graecia.
