Ferran Adrià Acosta (born in Barcelona, on May 14, 1962, at Hospitalet de Llobregat) is a Spanish chef regarded by many as the best chef in the world. In 2004, the American magazine “Time” included Adrià in its world’s top 10 most innovative people list. Adrià was chef and co-owner of the now-closed Spanish restaurant El Bulli (located in Cala Montjoi, Gerona) until 2011. Throughout the restaurant’s long history, it received the very highest accolades in the sector, including World’s Best Restaurant from the British magazine “Restaurant.” It also won the San Pellegrino prize 4 years in a row—something yet to be achieved by any other restaurant.
