From Ian Allan Collections. Festiniog and Blaenau Railway, 0-4-2 ST on a train at Llan Festiniog, 1869. This railway was built at 1' 11 1/2" and had an end on connection with the Festiniog railway. It ran as a narrow-gauge line to 1883, before being purchased by the GWR and converted to standard gauge. The line remained open after the closure of the through route to service the nuclear power station at Trawsfyndd.
