Tsuyacho was the trademark used by Isehan-honten from the Taisho Period to the early Showa Period. The brand Tsuyacho had several kinds of cosmetics including creamy rouge , cheek rouge, eyebrow powder (pencil), face powder, and face powder paste. This bo-beni is one of them. It is lip rouge made by pressing pigments together into the shape of a crayon.
Bo-beni was not applied directly to the lips, but instead rubbed onto paper and applied to the lips by finger.
