Fibulae fashion

Pins and brooches made of various materials, like bone, bronze, and iron, were used to attach clothes or to close garments. At the same time, they were pieces of jewellery, very much subject to changes in fashion so their design quickly changed. Their function resembles our modern day safety pin.
