Inauguration program

The choice of playing "Hamlet" with the italian Titta Ruffo for the premiére caused an outbreak inside São Paulo's Parliament and in major city's newspapers. As a solution, the entrepreneur Celestino Silva decided to open the presentation with excerpts of "Il Guarany", by the Brazilian Carlos Gomes, and under the baton of Eduardo Vitale.
