The Swedish artist Karl Nordström was a leading figure in the Swedish art world in the last decades of the 1800s. He settled for a time in Grez-sur-Loing outside Paris in the 1880s where many Scandinavian and American artists also came. In this painting you can see how he was influenced by the colors and lightness of the French Impressionism.
