Majid Alyousef took an organic yet analytical journey of his own take on the visual value of calligraphic forms. The work comprises a set of 50 abstract forms made from simple curves taken entirely from the alphabet. Each line is a part of an actual letter outline and each colour is an indication of a potential letterform mass or a negative space, choreographed to convey an aesthetic message. The splendour of motion and emotion lies in their deconstruction; dispersive lines, bleeding ink, the negative and subverted treatment of the bordered and the borderless, the repetitive and the mimetic within the fluid.
