白須賀宿を出てすぐの猿ヶ馬場は、豊臣秀吉がここの茶店で出された柏餅を店の老婆が猿に似ていたことから「猿が婆の勝和もち」と名付け、それが転じて地名となりました。左の店には「名物かしは餅」の看板が見えます。
