In 1908, the A. Schoenhut Company introduced a series of farm animals, as well as a farmer and a milkmaid, to supplement its Humpty Dumpty Circus set. The new farm animals included the goose, the cow, the bulldog, the burro, the cat, and the rabbit.

The bulldog had either glass or painted eyes. Both styles came in brown or white with black spots. This spotted bulldog has painted eyes and a red studded collar.
