By 1950, Connemara Farms had over 200 goats, was a Grade "A" dairy, and Mrs. Sandburg was considered one of the premier breeders of dairy goats. Goats were a part of everyday life and could be found in the pasture, in the barn, in some outbuildings, underneath the house, even as figurines on Janet Sandburg's dresser.
