In May 1914, a group of 12 Igorot men and women was brought to San Francisco to perform in cultural exhibitions. The native Filipinos were detained on Angel Island while their impresario, Harry Miller, was arrested for violating Philippine law. Eleven of them (7 men and 4 women) can be seen sitting on the steps of the immigration station's administration building with Miller's young daughter, May.
