The hand-painted poster shows Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi from three different stages of his life. The portrait on the bottom right corner is a depiction of him from the time when he was a young lawyer. He is dressed in a suit in this imagery. The portrait on the bottom left corner and the one in the centre represent his look from the later stages of his life where he is dressed in draped hand-woven fabric, from the time of the movement for independence.
The character of M.K. Gandhi was portrayed on screen by English actor Ben Kingsley. Towards the extreme top area, starting from the left, first comes the director's name as 'RICHARD ATTENBOROUGH'S FILM', next line; 'Gandhi' (Devanagari). In the bottom half towards the left, there is text reading 'Starring Ben Kingsley as 'The Mahatama' ', next line;
'with an international starcast.', next line; 'Distributed by Columbia Films of India Ltd. & MUSIC INDIA LTD.', followed by a logo. On the right side, the same information is printed in Devanagari as 'Columbia Pictures Pesh Karte Hai', next line; 'Richard Attenborough Ki Film', next line; 'GANDHI'. On the bottom border towards the left are the printer's credits as 'GLOBE ART PRINTERS DELHI'. On the bottom border towards the right, possibly the artist's credits are mentioned as 'Ph:- 568616 Raju Gulati'.
