Film poster for the Hindi film 'Inkaar' (Refusal), released in the year 1977.
The poster shows multiple characters and is made using the cut and paste technique,
hand-painting and some very interesting typography. In the frame of the poster, there is
big cut-out of the character CID officer Amarnath Gill's (Vinod Khanna) face on the left
half. To the right of this image is a cut out of the villain Raj Singh (Amjad Khan), who is
dressed in a black attire and is carrying a suitcase with his left hand. Next to this image is
a cut-out of the female character Geeta Chaudhary's (Vidya Sinha) face. Under Vinod
Khanna's face is a cut-out of a frame from the song 'Tu Mungla Mungla Mai Good Ki
Dali' (check translation), sung by Usha Mangeshkar. The image features Helen, dressed
in a checkered blouse and a short dhoti (loin cloth), sitting by a pole. A man is laying on her
lap. Between Helen's and Amjad Khan's image, a cut-out of a hand holding a revolver is
appearing outwards, overlapping with the rest of the images. Under this image is the
name of the film in big, bold, yellow type, reading 'INKAAR' (English). There is a
hand-painted train running right on top of the bold type of the film's name towards the right.
Under the name towards the right is 'IN EASTMANCOLOR'.Towards the top right corner is
a hand-painted image of a hand holding a revolver, pointing downwards. Towards the
top left corner are some credits. From the top, first comes 'UTTAM CHITRA PRESENTS',
next line; 'VINOD KHANNA . VIDYA SINHA . SHREERAM LAGOO', next line; 'SADHU
MEHER . HELEN & AMJAD KHAN', next line; 'WITH RAKESH ROSHAN . KESHTO
MUKHERJEE'. This entire composition is encased in a blue line border. On the bottom
border of the poster, from left to right are more credits reading 'PRODUCED BY ROMU
N. SIPPY' , 'DIRECTED BY RAJ N. SIPPY', 'MUSIC RAJESH ROSHAN'.
