Amrita says: "I lost my Uncle and Grandfather to Covid-19 so when I saw this initiative I had to be apart of it.
Months ago, I felt helpless. This painting gave me a way to channel not only my heartache and fear, but my gratitude to the NHS staff that put their own lives at risk in order to support my loved ones and so many of our loved ones during their final moments.
When I asked Fiona to tell me about why she became a Doctor, she said that growing up she had a passion for science and loved people. Since becoming a Doctor, she appreciates the privilege of "supporting people in their most vunerable moments". This really touched me. I will never be able to illustrate the respect and admiration I feel for those who choose to be doctors, nurses, or carers. An applause, a thank you, a portrait will simply never be enough but I hope you know you are appreciated."
Fiona says: "This is incredible, thank you soo much!"
