Marc Monzó (Barcelona, Catalonia, 1973) is one of the most outstanding artists of contemporary Spanish and international jewellery. Since childhood he has been attracted to the tiny and small objects of popular culture collected by his grandfather. He began studying jewellery fascinated by this scale and soon realised that jewellery was an ideal field for personal expression. His interest in synthetic aesthetics led him to create his own style characterised by formal sobriety, precision and geometric forms.
Monzó studied jewellery at the Massana School in Barcelona. He has received numerous national and international awards and mentions, and his works form part of important museums and collections, including: the Collection of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Barcelona, the National Gallery of Australia, the Stedelijk Museum’s-Hertogenbosch, the Françoise van den Bosch Foundation and the CODA Museum. He has given lectures and workshops internationally, and has received awards such as the City of Barcelona Prize in 2018.
