First Photograph of a secret rocket firing device on North American's F-86D Sabre Jet was recently released by the Air Force. Capable of shooting down the world's biggest bomber, 24 "mighty mouse" rockets can be fired automatically from a launching pad which retrace into the plane's fuselage. Powered by a General Electric J-47-17 engine, a combat loaded F-86D holds the world's speed record of 698.5 miles per hour. This is an official Air Force photo taken on the firing range at Edwards Air Force Base.
