This is a tool used to pick up a fishing hook when it is caught in the riverbed. A hook retriever, also referred to as dolmu, is made by making a hole in an empty ammunition cartridge and inserting a ring into the hole. The ring located on the top of the cartridge is designed to tie a string coiled round the reel. A reel is a flat piece of wood with both ends furrowed for winding the fishing line.
