This hook made from bone or shell covered in mother of pearl (most now worn away) and attached to a twine cord. From the collection of Rear Admiral Spelman Swaine, R.N. of Leverington, Wisbech, who accompanied Vancouver on his voyage in the 'Discovery' 1791-1795; probably collected from Tahiti, circa 1791.
